When disposing of ashes at the transfer station, please ensure they are not thrown into the pit. Ashes can remain smouldering for several days, and if still hot, they can ignite surrounding waste, potentially causing fires involving plastics, chemicals, and other hazardous materials. Responding to such fires diverts critical resources from other emergencies and may delay response times. Additionally, these incidents result in unnecessary costs.

If you are unsure where to properly dispose of certain items, please speak to the attendant for guidance. Our goal is to minimize improper disposal to enhance safety and efficiency.
