Parks and Trails

The Township of Hornepayne is committed to maintaining an active, connected community by providing recreational opportunities for our residents and visitors. There are lots of activities available year-round at our local parks and trails to support your healthy lifestyle, including:

• Baseball (currently closed due to relocation)
• Cross country
• Curling
• Hockey
• Private fitness programs
• Soccer (currently closed due to relocation)

R.W. Anderson Park

The R.W. Anderson Outdoor Recreational Park located at 250 Front Street on the corner of Front Street and Leslie Avenue, features spaces to enjoy your favourite sports and spend time with your family. Here, you can find a:

• Basketball court
• Playground
• Tennis court

There is also a second playground nearby located at 103 Riverside Drive.

Cedar Point Park

Check out Cedar Point Park minutes from town to swim, hike and play on our disc golf course.

Buttercup Trails

The Buttercup Trails are year round multiuse trails located at the end of Third Avenue just off the Ministry Road. The trails can be used for:

• Walking
• Cross country skiing
• Snowshoeing
• Snowmobiling

The Buttercup Trails are voluntarily maintained. There are also three fire pits along the trails with complimentary firewood supplied. Check out a map of the Buttercup Trails and other back road maps.

Pavilion, Skate and Toddler Park 

Check out our pavilion at 120 Front Street which includes a skate and new toddler park. 

Welcome Garden

Visit our beautiful Welcome Garden at 68 Front Street, behind the town hall.

Jackfish River Trail

Enter and walk the Jackfish River trail off Hwy. 631 N beside the ESSO. 

Centre of Ontario

Hornepayne has been deemed the Geographic Centre of Ontario, located off Highway 631 North turning on Norm's Road with the Coordinates N49°15.675' W084°43.950'.
